Concept Artist

Over the 4 years I worked at Trion Worlds, I created concept art for the television/video game crossover project with the Sci-Fi channel, Defiance. The game was a completely new IP developed by Trion Worlds and required a large amount of concept art. I helped create environment concepts to show a radically changed Earth, containing new species of flora and fauna, as well as transformations of existing landmarks. In addition to contributions to concept art, I also took over responsibilities for outdoor lighting and skybox development. At the request of the Art Director, I also helped polish textures and environment art assets.

Art:

  • Concept art of new sci-fi worlds based on brief write-ups.
  • Texture creation and polish, as well as material adjustments to create a more realistic look.
  • Environment lighting using custom in-house engine. Created full dynamic day-night cycle.

General:

  • Created playable block-ins of environments and integrated them into the custom in-house engine.
  • Worked closely with engineering team to improve look of outdoor lighting.
  • R&D for alternative terrain creation.
